‘Giving the Best of Yourself’ the Focus of the Second Annual Sport at the Service of Humanity Regional Conference
LOS ANGELES — The LA84 Foundation proudly co-sponsored the Sport at the Service of Humanity second regional conference, held at Loyola Marymount University.
Over two days, 50 presenters came together from all walks of life to share stories and experiences from the world of faith, sport, academia and business.
Some of the speakers included: LA84 Foundation President and CEO, Renata Simril, First Lady Amy Wakeland, Father Gregory Boyle and nine-time Paralympian Candace Cable.
The inaugural conference happened at the Vatican in 2016.
Simril, focused on helping to close the play equity gap.
“Play is a human right,” she said. “The dreams of our youth should not be limited by their zip code.”
Faith and sport were at the forefront of the discussions, focusing on how the two intersect. SSH has core principles; compassion, respect, love, balance, enlightenment and joy.
